Frequently Asked Questions

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?

Pricing depends on a few different factors. An initial diagnosis and estimate includes a one-time travel fee of $50 for Knox County residents and $100 for most surrounding counties and a one-hour minimum. My hourly rates are $125 for automotive and $150 for RV repairs. If there is any time left of the initial hour, I do roll that time into the repair as a courtesy (i.e. if a diagnosis only takes me half an hour, you have half an hour built in to your repair cost). I provide estimates and invoices to customers and never complete any additional work without the customer’s consent, so there are no surprises.

Do you charge a travel fee if you come out more than once?

Not unless it is for a separate issue/diagnosis not mentioned in the initial hour. If I am required to leave to obtain a part or schedule the repair for another day after the initial diagnosis, I do not charge another travel fee. Once an estimate is created, I do not add any additional fees for travel even if I travel to you multiple times.

ARE YOU OPEN FOR EMERGENCIES?

Yes, when possible. My main business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, but I do accept emergency calls after hours and on weekends when I am available. There is an increased hourly rate for emergency calls.

HOW QUICKLY CAN YOU FIX MY CAR OR RV?

Timeliness depends on parts availability and current workload. I pride myself in maintaining contact with customers and keeping up with deadlines. There are occasions when parts availability can cause delays, but I strive to keep my customers informed of any potential issues that may cause the repair to take longer than initially estimated.

CAN I provide my own parts?

In short, no. When a customer provides their own parts, there is no warranty. That means that if a customer-supplied-part were to fail, the customer is not only out the cost of the part, but they are also out the cost of labor. Commercially supplied parts warranty both the part and labor in the case of a part failure.
